The first day of spring for our first blog, how appropriate! With spring comes renewal, the ability to start again. To redefine, choose a new path.
At Pure Skin, we help women every day redefine themselves. We help them take a new look at themselves.
Today I want to talk about those definitions. What it means to look the best you can be. It's just like when you want to feel the best you can be. It's an extension of feeling good about yourself, it's not about vanity. Granted, it gets a little foggy as to how far is far enough when we try to do things to look the best we can. There is a vast expanse between a little lipstick and a facelift. After the Oscars, people were really ripping into how Goldie Hawn and Kim Novak looked. Wow. People are harsh. First off, Kim Novak is 81 years old. Good for her! Leave her alone! Let's see any of us at 81. Frankly, if I'm around then, I'll do what I can to look good, just like she did. She didn't have anything done to receive the comments she did. No one does. It's like lip injections. You can go too far, but if it's done well, then you can look great. (look at Jennifer Garner). Men and women alike have something done to look better. We want to match how we feel on the inside. The inside is always younger than the outside. Ok, so more power to those who say they won't do anything. Sometimes they get comments too. They may say they don't care. Then they shouldn't care about what someone else is doing either.
Here's the bottom line - we're all living longer and we all want to look and feel good about ourselves as we age! We all do it in different ways. Maybe we shouldn't say where to draw the line. Some people have something done and it can look good (I'm sure this isn't Goldie's first time at having something done!). We can certainly say, let's go less than more, or maybe not 10 things done at once. And we can say, no not for me! The technology is there, it's not going away. In fact it will be status quo in the future no doubt in less aggressive ways as we live longer and technology improves.
I'll shout not for me! For now. I'm very happy with what my skincare and makeup is doing for me. Maybe I'll be very happy how I look when I'm 81. Maybe not. But it will be my choice what I do and how I do it. As it should be yours too.
